Welcome to the Primary Care Department in Tierp-Älvkarleby! We are part of Region Uppsala, where our 1,800 employees work with primary care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care, and education, research, and development are central to our work to meet the needs of the residents.

Your Role

You will perform standard departmental work in collaboration with and under the supervision of specialist doctors. At our department, you will work closely with the entire team. You will learn to balance care for multi-morbid patients and plan care for patients both during inpatient stays and after discharge. We place great emphasis on individualizing care and involving both patients and relatives.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in the role of assistant doctor, we expect you to have a medical degree. You should possess good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as a good understanding of the Swedish healthcare system. We view good patient interaction as one of your most important tools. Experience working with Region Uppsala's electronic health record system, Cosmic, is an advantage. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Our Operations

The Primary Care Department is part of Vårdcentrum Tierp, a 24/7 operation located between Uppsala and Gävle with good commuting opportunities. The department currently has 18 care beds with shorter care times and adapted admission and discharge flows. The service is at the primary care level for patients aged 17 and up. We primarily target older patients with complex needs who require inpatient care but do not require the hospital's specialized resources. Some day care is also offered.

We work from a person-centered perspective towards patients, relatives, colleagues, and partners. Collaboration between different healthcare providers is crucial for a seamless care process where everyone knows their role and contributes to clarity and security.
